    Hi!

Just upgraded to a Zero 4K box from the original Zero and I am very happy with it. It is running with BH 3.0.9D. Response time, EPG and general handling has improved alot, overall a very satisfying upgrade.

The only thing is that when playing movie files with Media Player from the pc, it will not display the image, only the soundtrack. The network shares and mounting from PC is working fine. I can navigate mounted disks without problem, and playing audio files is also ok, but when playing video files, I only get the audio, without image.

This happens independent of the video file type. I have some very few video files who were not supported on the old Zero also, but now no .avi or .mpg I could watch earlier will show image, only the soundtrack.

    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Ty.

Sorry to say, it didn't help, but thanks anyway! I'll do a quick re-install and see how it goes.

What player do you use on your PC?

Go to Menu>>Setup>>System>>ServiceApp and change internal player to ExtePlayer3
    Save and reboot when asked.

Try now if its working, If not mark the video you want to play and press menu. Now choose "Play with ExtePlayer 3"

I am not trying to stream movies playing on my pc, I am trying to watch movies on the Vu+ which are stored on my pc, and linked to the Vu+ through mountpoints setup.

    Thank you for your answer!

I went to the ServiceApp menu as described, changed the Enigma2 playback system from ‘original’ to ‘serviceapp’, set Player to ‘exteplayer3’, saved and rebooted - still no picture, only soundtrack.

I am however not able to find out how to mark a video file neither in the filelist nor the playlist, so I cannot try out your 2nd suggestion. Pressing ok in both lists will only start the movie, with the same result btw, and pressing menu only gives me the option to do things with the playlist - add, delete, load playlist etc.

Its the regular Moviplayer i refer to. You are using or the "MediaPlayer"

With Movieplayer i refer to the same player used for recordings.
If you browse your movies from the regular PVR screen then when its highlighted press menu and choose "Play with ExtePlayer3"

Ok, I get what you mean. I uploaded some video files from the pc to the movie folder so I could access them via PVR, unfortunately the result is the same.

I found out however, that the VU+ will play .mkv files correctly, both through the network share with Mediaplayer, and uploaded through PVR. They play correctly whether I just press ‘OK’ to start them, or if I use your suggestion and go through ‘Menu’ > ‘Play with exte3player’.

.avi and .mpg still play with soundtrack only and no picture.

Could it be some sort of codec error?

And is there a way to access my network share without using Mediaplayer,
    like through PVR?

In Blackhole you have to change the settings for movie location to access your network share
Default is /media/hdd/movie and i would suggest you also change the recording and timeshift path to same network location

The good thing with this is that all devices that can access your network share can also access your recordings from your Vu+
Downside is if you have a slow network recordings can be damage.

But i am not sure about this, but i have read somewhere that the Zero4K have some codec issues but not sure
maybe @Ev0 or @Shiro or @Alexwilmac can give a better answer about this problem :)

Zero4K does not support Mpeg (mpeg1), only mpeg2 onwards.

Thank you for your effort in trying to help me sort this issue! I’ve been quite bz lately, but I’ll update here as soon as I’d have a chance to look into this further.
